The consumption of electricity in Denmark has grown steadily since the establishment of the first power plant in 1891. At first electricity was used for light, but soon workshops and industries realised the advantage of electricity for pulling their machines. In the 1920’es electricity also became a service of the house wife, first for ironing and cleaning, later for cooking. In the 1950’es teenage life went all electric with transistor radios and electric guitars.
In the exhibition you can visit a part telling the history, design and techniques of electric light, in another part you can watch mums as well as dads electric appliances. A third place you may learn about the use of electricity in industries and you can test a real robot, and in the part illustrating electric culture of the teenagers you may play on a real guitar.
